3 Literary Agents Seeking Family Secrets in Fiction

Family secrets have a way of refusing to stay buried. If your manuscript explores complicated families, long-held secrets, strained relationships, or the consequences of the past, these three literary agents may be worth researching.

Jessica Berg: Rosecliff Literary

Jessica Berg is looking for family stories with a long shadow—including inheritance, secrets, loyalty, estrangement, and reunions that don't magically heal everything.

Her interests include upmarket and women's fiction, thrillers and suspense, historical fiction, literary fiction, and more.

Michelle Richter: Fuse Literary

Michelle Richter is interested in family secrets, complex sibling relationships, and complicated friendships, particularly in emotionally resonant book club and women's fiction.

She also represents mystery, thriller/suspense, upmarket, and commercial fiction, with a particular interest in compelling characters and strong hooks.

Wendy Sherman: Wendy Sherman Associates

Wendy Sherman loves voice- and story-driven fiction and has a particular weakness for family secrets and mother-daughter relationships. She's also drawn to Southern voices, suspense with well-developed protagonists, and realistic love stories.

Her fiction interests include upmarket, commercial and literary fiction, thriller/suspense, and romance.
