About the Event
#DVpit (Diverse Voices Pitch) is a premier annual virtual pitching event on Bluesky designed to highlight self-identifying marginalized creators who have been historically underrepresented in traditional publishing (such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled/neurodivergent, or other marginalized communities).
Unagented writers post 300-character pitches for their complete, query-ready manuscripts or portfolios using the #DVpit hashtag (and #DVart for artwork) to receive query and submission requests from participating literary agents and editors.

Now hosted exclusively on Bluesky, it offers an open-access, high-visibility platform where authors and illustrators can bypass traditional slush piles and connect directly with a wide network of publishing professionals seeking diverse stories.
Insider Tip
Every pitch must be a single standalone post limited to 300 characters, including the mandatory #DVpit hashtag and any genre hashtags (do not create threads!). You can pitch up to 6 times per project, limited to 1 pitch per hour. Draft several variations of your pitch beforehand and keep a close eye on your notifications for agent "likes," which represent manuscript requests!
Participation Rules
- Participants must be unagented
- Participants must come from marginalized and historically underrepresented backgrounds (such as BIPOC, disabled/neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, etc.).
- The pitched manuscript or art portfolio must be complete, polished, and query-ready.
- Agented writers and previously self-published books are not eligible.
- A maximum of 6 pitches are allowed per project, with a strict limit of 1 pitch per hour per project.
- Each pitch must be a single standalone post (no threads) under Bluesky’s 300-character limit, including the mandatory #DVpit hashtag and relevant category tags (e.g., #YA, #A, #PB, #GN). Illustrators pitching artwork must also include the #DVart and #WFH hashtags.
- Liking pitches is strictly reserved for participating agents and editors to indicate submission requests. Peer participants must not like or repost pitches, but can reply or quote-post to show support.
- Do not tag or mention specific agents or editors to call attention to your pitch.
- No generative AI may be used for any aspect of the event, including writing or images.
- You can add up to 4 images to your pitch posts.
- Artists looking for commissions should ONLY se the hashtag #DVart. Include your mediums, style, age groups. Include a sample of your work as attached images
- Pitching artists can link their posts to their online portfolio
How to Participate
Login to BlueSky
Create a BlueSky account if you don't have one.
Draft your pitches
Draft and refine up to 6 distinct pitches under 300 characters, including category/genre hashtags and optional identity hashtags (e.g., #OWN, #POC, #DIS).
Post your pitches!
On September 30, 2026, post your pitches on Bluesky during the event hours, ensuring you only post once per hour per project.
Boost other authors' pitches
Support other authors by replying or quote-posting their #DVpit posts. Do NOT like or repost!
Monitor your likes and reposts
Monitor your notifications for "likes" AND reposts from agents and editors. (A "like" from an agent is supposed to signal a request for your material. If you receive an editor like, make sure to check their submission guidelines as not all editors accept unagented submissions. In that instance, an editor like means they would like to see your project once you are agented and on sub.
Do your due dilligence
Thoroughly research any requesting agent or editor to check their submission guidelines and ensure they are a legitimate and safe fit before submitting.DVpit does not endorse or vouch for any participating agents/editors/publishers.
