#PitchDis 2026
About the Event
#PitchDis is an annual virtual pitching event designed to showcase work by unagented writers who self-identify as disabled, neurodivergent, and/or chronically ill, a community historically underrepresented in traditional publishing. Writers submit their completed, polished manuscripts via a Google Form during a 3-day pitch window. The following week, registered literary agents and editors gain password-protected access to the pitches on pitchdis.com and submit automated requests. The event is free and welcomes #OwnVoices stories, although having disabled characters is not a requirement to participate.

Insider Tip
Double and triple check your email address on the Google Form because the request system is automated and typos will prevent you from receiving requests. Keep a copy of your pitch since requesting agents/editors will ask for it when you submit. If you receive requests from individuals you are not comfortable working with, you can simply ignore them.
Participation Rules
- Participants must self-identify as disabled, neurodivergent, and/or chronically ill. The organizers do not make this decision for you or judge if you are "disabled enough" to participate.
- Participants must be unagented
- Project submitted must not be previously published. This includes self-published.
- Projects created solely or in part by generative AI are strictly ineligible.
- Writers who write disabled characters but do not identify as disabled themselves are not eligible
- Authors may submit a maximum of one pitch per project and up to two projects total. Submitting more than two projects will result in any subsequent submissions being deleted.
- Pitches must be 300 characters or less. Emojis are allowed (each counting as one character), but do not include hashtags or line breaks in the pitch box.
- You can choose a maximum of two genres. If you choose "Other", you may only write in one genre and it is strictly limited to 20 characters. Anything failing to follow these guidelines will be deleted.
- #PitchDis reserves the right to delete any pitches found to be harmful or offensive.
- All pitch data will be removed from pitchdis.com within ten days after the end of the requesting period to protect authors' intellectual property.
How to Participate
Prepare your pitches
Prepare your pitches (up to 2 projects, 1 pitch each) under 300 characters.
Fill out the official google form
Anytime from September 8, 2026 (8:00 AM EDT) through September 10, 2026 (8:00 PM EDT), access the official Google Form link posted on pitchdis.com or the official social media channels (Bluesky, Twitter, Instagram) Fill out the Google Form completely, including your email address (double-checked for typos), book title, age group/category, selected genres (up to 2, or 1 custom "Other" up to 20 chars), optional hashtags, and your name/pen name.
Monitor your email inbox
During the request window (September 15 to September 18, 2026), agents and editors will review pitches. Monitor your email for automated requests, which will include instructions on how to submit your materials.
Conduct your due dilligence
Thoroughly research any requesting agent or editor to verify they are a safe, professional, and legitimate fit for your career before sending your materials.
